Hello,
I purchased a Victor Reader Stream in late July of 2008 at the NFB convention in Texas from Humanware. I have used it for several years since that time and have been very satisfied with it.
Reason for selling:
1. A while back, when recording a concert live, I dropped the unit, splitting the earphone jack and microphone jacks open. They still work however; they should at least be replaced at some point. The main problem is that the battery does not hold a charge; when you unplug the unit, the battery and unit all shut down. Humanware supposed it is an internal problem. I'm not exactly sure. Other than those problems described, the stream still talks and works fine, though when I priced getting everything fixed, it was around $270. One could use it as parts, or still use the device, provided that the unit remains plugged into the AC adapter. One could try replacing the battery, and if that fixes the issue, you could pay $150 to have both the jacks fixed, though they function fine. So, what I want in return is $50 cash, or a working Apple TV.
Thanks for looking,Hardy and Nathan.
